El solar adjudicado, delimitado por las calles Belgrano, Moreno y Lima, se vio reducido por el ensanche de la calle Lima y tambi\u00e9n por la apertura de la Diagonal Sur, por lo que hubo que otorgar a la futura edificaci\u00f3n mayor altura. As\u00ed el planteo se organiz\u00f3 en una planta en \u201cU\u201d con frente a la futura Avenida 9 de Julio, de 93 metros de altura y 27 niveles, compuestos por 2 subsuelos. 23 pisos altos, una azotea y una terraza donde se pensaba instalar un observatorio panor\u00e1mico de la ciudad.<br \/><br \/>La construcci\u00f3n comenz\u00f3 en noviembre de 1934. No pas\u00f3 mucho tiempo para que alguien tomara conciencia que la ubicaci\u00f3n del volumen blanquecino del edificio interrumpir\u00eda la traza de la Avenida 9 de Julio, cuyas primeras cinco cuadras se inauguraron en octubre de 1937.<br \/><br \/>La falta de planificaci\u00f3n qued\u00f3 en evidencia. Entre las posibles soluciones que se pensaron a ra\u00edz de este problema, se encuentra otro proyecto de su autor, el arquitecto Belgrano Blanco, a cargo de la Divisi\u00f3n Proyectos del M.O.P, quien propuso la construcci\u00f3n de un edificio gemelo enfrentado, que acentuase su monumentalidad e hiciese de gran portal de ingreso a la ciudad desde el sur. Nada de esto lleg\u00f3 a concretarse, y as\u00ed qued\u00f3 una obra que, en su momento, super\u00f3 en altura a los edificios Comega y Safico.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-f99a360 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"f99a360\"
